Omega8000

I just received the Omega 8000 today. After reading some of the post on the forum, I see something about versions 4,5 and 6. I checked the serial# on the box from Kellyco and saw that my detector was made in Oct of 2013. What is the differences in versions and what version is mine?

Hold down the pin point button while you turn the detector on. The version will show on the screen.

To quote a buddy of mine -

"The threshold on the V4 has to have the sensitivity turned way up to be able to hear deep targets. When you turn it down to help control the EMI, you can't hear the deep targets. The only difference between the V5 and V6 is the V6 has an embedded serial number. That's it! You can set both of them at a sensitivity of 70 and still hear the deep targets without any loss of depth. They made the threshold higher on the V5 and V6 so you can hear better at a lower sensitivity setting"

I contacted Kellyco and they agreed to replace the version 4 with a version 6 and they even paid the return shipping. Kellyco is a good and dependable company.
