omega problems????

digoneup

New member
hello,

have read many posts about the omega having actual physical (not user error) problems....would like to hear from the members on this. I am not "brand loyal"....and after reading so many posts on this, maybe i should shy away from this unit in favor of a different brand(as i will be buying used)....any thoughts guys?????

BTW.....I dont/didnt mean to open a "can of worms" here.....just trying to make the right choice as far as not being the original owner, and what if something does happen to unit....etc..... i have found in the past that another "brand" will stand behind their product even if im not the original owner....im not saying that the company or the product is "better"...just helps put me at ease i guess.

I am about 95% sure my Omega problems are between the ears software problems. :detecting:
I sent in my ID EDGE last month and thought Fisher treated me well. I fee-bayed a used machine with interface issues and sent it in to FT. They replaced the face and all for $75. 2 weeks turn around time, maybe 15 days. I talked to Felix and Sylvia on intake and getting an RA#. I talked to Daniel about a tech question. I was never hurried or talked down to or made to feel like I was imposing by asking them to do the repair.

Digoneup,

All machines/companies have problems once in awhile. I havent seen any major problems with the 8000. First Texas is VERY good about helping us dealers and customers out. They support us very well! Call or email me if you have any questions or I can help you. Bart

It covered replacing the plastic face with the lcd and controls (flush blister push buttons) and checking out the unit and coil. I don't think they replaced anything else internal. I didn't send in the shaft.

That's in line with other mfg's. White's tuned up, replaced my display LED, plastic faceplate and touchpads a year ago. And checked the machine over. The charge was $75.00.
