Omega 8000 vs X-terra 70/705

Can anyone give me their opinions on the best buy for the same amount of dollars between an Omega 8000 and Minelab X-terra 70 or 705? And why is one a better deal and how do they compare on depth, Stability etc...Pros and cons...whatever you know...

I know the x-terra has a unique feature called Prospecting mode and can notch in or out within the whole frequency range where the Omega cannot notch in or out certain ranges like Dimes and Quarters...

Thanks

I had the X70 and liked it a lot until I bought the omega. With the omega you have a super light machine that is really powerful and stable in areas with a lot of EMI. It has a notching feature like the x70 has. With the X70 you can change frequencies by changing the coils. You can't do that with the omega.

There is a prospecting mode as well as a beach mode on the x70. I used the beach mode and to be honest there wasn't much of a difference between the two on that one.

I never used the prospecting mode but I found my first gold ring (10k) last month with my Omega.

They are both very good machines and I would think that if you are going to be prospecting, go with the X70. Otherwise, I just loved the look and feel of the omega and how it hit on coins. And I think that the omega is a sleeper machine that will probably catch on after this hunting season.

Your best bet is to go to a local dealer and try them both out.
