Omega 8000 vs M6

Has anyone with an Omega 8000 done any test against the M6. I think I found more silver with this machine then the F75, XLT or any other top model I had. Depth wasn't the greatest but it sure was a coin/silver hound. Like to know if the Omega has any depth over the M6 and how is it on silver items.

Thanks

Never used the M6 but did some reading. Seems it is placed just below MXT and the biggest problem is the knobs can be moved accidentally. I am very happy with mine. And I said in another post my sovereign elite will spend a lot of time leaning against wall. Maybe someone has both so they can compare the two.

I had the M6 and I have many hours on the Omega. There is more to compare than just depth between the two. Just compare the features.....

Let me put it this way: The Omega can do everything the M6 can and some more. Ground Error on Display , 4 Tone ID modes to choose from, less weight, just one 9 volt battery, Mineralisation readout on display, Signal Strength, Notch, Frequency Shift and more are features the M6 doesn't have.

In a nutshell : Features and performance for the money outruns the M6 !

I went detecting Sunday and tried out my new 11"DD at an old school I have hunted pretty hard the last couple years. I was there 2 hours in an old part of the field. I found 3 silver dimes, 2 rosies and a 42 merc. I also found 2 wheat pennies. There was no mistaking the silver as it screamed at me. None too deep as this spot is like concrete most of the year. We have had a lot of rain and for once it was soft. If you get a 85 with the DD, dig it!

Disc 16, 3 tone (at 16 disc it makes it 2 tone) 85 sensitivity. I have a lot of faith in my Omega.

Thanks all for the input. I know you ran the M6 quite a bit Andy and liked it. I know the 8000 has some features the M6 doesn't. Be it luck or not, the M6 seemed to have found me more good stuff then any machine I have used. Tried a ton of others one it like the XLT, F75, X70, Garrett 1500 and now the 6000 Di Pro SL. I haven't put any time on the 6000 yet to judge it for my liking but would like a backup machine with a screen and some other features.

Thinking of going back to the M6 but I hated all the chatter and noises that came with the unit. A darn good machine but thought of trying a 8000 before getting another M6 or MXT. Sounds like it would be the way to go for me. The 6000 Di is getting a little to heavy for my right elbow to handle for a long time too. Might just trade it for an 8000 if I can find a trade.

Lafatlife, I know you love yours and been telling me about all the features. I also know you have quite a few other machines in your stable now that have taken a back seat to the 8000. Maybe I will just break down and get one like you have told me. Sounds like a heck of a machine and something on the basics of the Titian 3000. I loved that machine other then the circuit board kept blowing out and the battery life really sucked.

Tink, you won't be sorry believe me! Make sure you get the 11" DD with it. I do not have the smallest coil but as yet have not needed it.

I think you would love the Omega. If not, I am sure you would be able to sell it for little loss.
