Omega 8000 or F70?

Hey every one. I am new to metal detecting (started in November) and am using a xterra 50. It does ok, however I have found only coins and rings up to 4-5 inches. I am wanting to upgrade and hunt for coins and gold in freshwater beaches. 2 times a year maybe saltwater beach. I live in Georgia with moderate ground min and would like some input on the 2 detectors. I am leaning toward the 8000 as of now. -------thanks for any help. Craig

I had an xt-50 4 years ago. I was a big minelab guy for the 10 years before that. I did not like the xt50. no depth . I never had the f70, but I 've had the omega for 6 weeks, and love it. Fast target response, fast recovery, lite weight. easy to pinpoint with all 3 coils. Accurate depth read, consistant TDI.Med. swing speed. Its a good fit for me. Hard to beat in the price range, IMHO.

It absolutly loved Indian Head Cents.. Dug many at 8-9 inch level.

I did ground balance often in all areas I hunted.
