Omega 8000 & bottle caps reject??

Anyone know how to reject these rusty bottlecaps. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Those caps are a problem in the ground with MOST detectors. Are you using the DD coil or the concentric coil?
There has been many claims that DD's have more trouble with the bottle caps as compared to the concentric's.

What I've noticed about mine is the caps will hit in the high tone range but have a much wider target ID as opposed to a coin at the same depth. That is down to around the 6" depth range anyway.

Here is something I heard, and I tried it on rusty bottlecaps with my G2....havent tried it yet with my Omega though. If you get a target that may be a bottlecap...put the coil on top of the target and bob the coil straight up and down...on my G2 it will only give low iron tones

If the target is shallow enough, raise the coil as you're sweeping back and forth. The ID will keep dropping for bottlecaps but stay pretty consistent for coins.

Mark, I lifted the coil & that was the answer!!! The bottlecaps tones change to a lower tone!!!! Thanks much for the info.
