Olympus 3040 or 4040

I presently have a 3020, but would like the faster lens on the 3040/4040, so would appreciate some advice about which to buy. The main subjects would be landscapes, flowers and brand new grandson. It looks to me as if the 3040 has some features the 4040 doesn't. So assuming the 3 megapixels is enough for prints no larger than 8x10 (a decent assumption?), wouldn't the 3040 work just as well?
