"Oldtime Garrett Users" advice needed

New member
I am currently using a minelab elite and a Fisher 1280x.. I hunt mostly on the beach and I have a neighbor that hunts with a ( Garett pro master hunter 111) vintage around 1989-90 I think,, He is usually gone when I am there and have not had a chance to try his.. This machine will be mostly for my wife.. Is it stable in wet sand to shallow water????? It looks light enough for her to use.. no hip mount etc...I also think she would like the knobs instead of digital...I don't want to spend 6-7-800 dollars on a beach machine until I know she will hunt and enjoy it ..Its gotta' be light... The only time I saw him hunt dry sand he picked up stuff and It read true on meter...dime , quarter, tabs, etc.
I might even like it myself if I can get about knee deep to suds to wet sand and machine still be stable
Any Info " PRO or CON" will be most welcome....Thanks in advance........... Peg Leg Red
