Today I went to an old park. Found some clad and then I got a signal that sounded different but had just enough of a good tone to check it out. At first when I saw how small it was I thought I had found my 1st silver 3 cent. As I looked more I though, no its not a silver 3 cent its a half dime. I then flipped it over and saw the words " 10 cents" and thought it was a Canadian dime.
When I got home I looked it up in a foreign coin book I have and found out its not a Canadian coin at all. I started to flip through the book and then found it. Its a 1889 silver 10 cent coin from the Netherlands. I took the picture next to a dime so you could see how small it is.
This coin is now my oldest silver beating out my 1892 Barber dime.
Sure had fun but getting cold here
