Howdy--
I took the V3i to an old Texas Trail to do a little relic hunting. I was using a modified relic program which in the past has pulled eagle cuff buttons at 10"'s. It worked again this past week end. The percussion caps and lead were dug in the 6" to 9" depth range. As the hunt was coming to an end and I was working my way back to the truck I got a loud 83-84 signal at 2"'s. I figured that it would be some oil-field trash - it wasn't! When I saw the edge lettering and the telltale lion I knew that I held in my hand the oldest silver coin that I had ever dug. The coin itself is VERY worn but with my reference book (Catalogue of the Worlds most popular Coins 1965 Edition ) , I was able to positively identify it as a Spanish Joseph Napoleon 10 Reales minted from 1810-1813. The funny thing is that I dug it less than 20 yards from the truck. You KNOW that the next time that I go relic hunting I will be swinging "Low & Slow" in that area! Best of luck and...
