Oldest, most unusual find?

I'm kinda curios of what is the oldest find on this forum and also the most unusual find? Of course found with an MXT or similar Whites MD. Jack

Boy, that's a tough one Jack. I think my best find was the WWII dog tag that I returned to the owner's son. Yes, that was priceless for sure. My oldest coin to date is an 1858 half dime, but the one I really like is the two 1859 fatty Indian cents along with my first 1866 Shield nickel. All from the same yard and we're going to go back soon to see if we missed anything. It's been two years since we hunted it and we're both excited to be able to go back. Here's a link to the post on the items: Misc. finds from the old rental HH, Nancy

Oldest find -1932 Wheat penny

Most unusual / odd find - Canned Ham

My oldest find is a North Carolina staff officers cuff button. Most unusual find was a swastika in the yard of a 1940's house. It turned out to be a coke cola advertisement from 1925.

Today, 1886 IH penny found ON the ground.....

Hey Nancy. Just went to the link that you posted and read all the replies... thats really awesome that you found the owner for the dog tags. I would have liked to had seen the sons face when he sees his dads tags. This site has alot of thoughtful MDrs. Hey Mark. How old do you suppose the canned ham was? Ha ha...Hey John. Is it possible to see pictures of the Coca Cola Swatstika ? Hey Triple hooked, sorry I can't remember your name but ... you found an 1886 IH on the ground... I wonder how it stayed on the surface for this length of time?

I think prior to WW II the swastika was considered good luck....cool find. My dad was in the military, I couldn't imagine someone handing me his dog tags.....very cool. Now if that was canned spam, it prolly was still good! :puke: The IH penny was found at the trunk of an old oak......it looks as though it had been on the surface for a while.........

I was MD ing a forest service park that was built in 1965. The park was renovated in 1978 and the camp sights were moved to the opposite side of the lake. So I decided to MD the old sights. I ended up digging into a old fire pit. That is where I found the canned ham. The tin was opened and the contents petrified. The tin looked like it was not opened with the key but rather exploded open from heat from the fire.
