Oldest coin from toll house site

Beautiful coin Ken! I would have been excited to find it! Have you got a copy of the "Coins of England & The United Kingdom" by Spinx? In the 2004 edition, page 391, it covers the valuation for your 1816 coin. If you don't have the book, you may be able to borrow it from a library. In the condition it's in, I'd get it checked out. Would love to see a photo of the other side of the coin.

It sure did, I was there for about 3 hours and just about to come home. It was starting to get pretty hot and this was the only decent find for the morning.........Ken.

Hi Golden. Thanks for the information. Trust me, you really wouldn't like to see the reverse, its' pretty worn, funny how one side wears but not the other. I don't have a copy of the book but might see if I can find one or try the library...thanks....Ken.

Hello Ken. Good find there mate just the sort of old coin to start the adrenalin working more so being silver and the age. My oldest English silver were a florin, shilling and a sixpence all in the same hole and dated 1846 or 7.Keep chasing the old ones. My foot is nearly healed and I should be out in the middle of the week. All the best. Stan. Australia down under.

That's a great coin Ken. You sure are finding the old ones. I don't have a coin book, but I'd look that one up if I were you. Marc.

Ken,I gotta say this, just to "torment" you a little.:| I live in San Diego, California, USA., and we're in the middle of winter right now. The sun is shining out side as I write this, but the temperature is probably in the mid 60's. I'm just messing with you on this, for fun, because it's so strange to think that people on the other side of the world are experiencing summer and heat in December and January. It still blows my mind a little, but, you're sure finding some great stuff, no matter how hot it is, so keep those cards and letters, coming on the forum.:twodetecting:
