Have what I call audio variances to cut down the odds for digging gold rings versus junk that imitates them..Of course good pair of phones and a trained ear sure help...Some newer models go much deeper but gone are the distinct audio variances..We all have our ways so do experiment and your gold ring count will go up and your digging of junk down....
