Older White's XLT Spectrum

What is the difference between a older XLT and the newer ones? When I turn my machine on it says S/W release 1.1 and shows a date of 94. Is there a way to upgrade the software? I am a electronics tech, so can I order a new main board and would it be practical to replace the old one? It seems to work fine now but just curious if newer software or firmware would be better. I am also comfortable with replacing IC's if that is what is needed to upgrade.

Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, 1.1 is the latest version. A call to White's would verify.

upgraded to the revised 1.1 which is what 19 of my 21 XLT's had. I had two of the 1.0 varieties and, unless you knew the difference or used those programs, you couldn't tell them apart. The last I knew there wasn't another upgrade and when they discontinued the XLT last year it was still the 1.1 version. There wouldn't have been a reason to upgrade it again since it was going to be dropped.
