Older Surfmaster PI or new dual field ...

Willee - Texas

Well-known member
Purchased a used Surfmaster PI for salt water hunting but now thinking (thinking always gets me into trouble) I should have bought the new dual field.

Did I make another mistake or are they reasonably close to the same for detection depth?

No, they are not the same but you will be happy. Use the Surf Pi for the summer (it will pay for itself in no time) and then if you feel so inclined you can upgrade next season.

learn the Surf PI well, and by the end of the water hunting season (if you are where it comes to an end) you'll know the strengths and weaknesses, get some use out of your investment, hopefully make some good finds, and then YOU will know if you want to move to the Dual Field or not.
