Older Sov. mod....

Remove the Sov. armrest and replace with an XLT type armrest with velcro strap...Reposition the control box under the armrest and you can move farther back for better ergonomics. All you need is a drill and a pop rivet gun...Applicable to original Sov.
Sov's XS, XS2 and XS2A...Whoops couple of those stick on bottom of chair legs sliders on bottom of box to protect same and your good to go...

On the bottom o:minelab::usaflag:f mine i use the adhesive felt stuff that is made to go on the bottom of lamps and things, usually comes bout 1/4 in thick and about 2 4x6 pieces in a pak, at lowes or wal mart, real cheap and can cut to cover whole bottom if you want :twodetecting:

Bugar have to look for that, strips of the female (I think) velcro with sticky back also works well..Have seen a multitude of stands and such, but only make the unit bulkier and certainly not as steady on uneven ground...Guess thats why they call this the mod form...

Yeah have used the velcro too, but i like the other stuff better, some is felt, and some has a rubber like back to it, comes in many sizes:twodetecting:

If you can see this picture you will see one of the Sovereigns I got traded in and the shaft that was used. I couldn't believe how well this unit balanced out as it felt weightless. It was adjustable so when you used a different coil the hand grip could be slide forward and balance it out. Also it has a stand that kept the control box off the ground.

Sov. is probably the most modded unit ever and have seen many variations....which work well for many...I don't like the straight rod but being to move the handle for different coils sure can help the ergonomics..Now that back stand would just bother my swing. Perhaps I am from the old school like my box like it came from the factory and also love the 550 meter( no offense to those that mod) as far as the pinpoint switch I pinpoint with the Disc. mode for two reasons( I hear tones well and the pinpoint mode being all metal you can pick up an object near the target that will affect your pinpoint)..
I believe one of the best modded Sov's I ever saw was the one that George Fatizzi had and I believe was modded by Ken Herre..In any case just my opinions and my motto( whatever works) and good luck with your Sov. and hope yours is modded to your spec's for comfort and ability to work well for you...
