OLDER EXCALIBUR WITH SEA SEARCH COIL NEED BATTERY POD

Look in the battery sticky. I posted some links to threads to adapting the old Sword and such to new PODs. Not a big deal.

By the way, check out some info on that horseshoe coil in the coil sticky. There are guys who love that coil for it's stability and actually use it on land on their Sovereigns they like it so much. I think some say they cut the fins off it to lighten it up, but I don't know if they do that for water hunting or just for land use.

Old style pods in good shape seem to be rarer than hen's teeth.

Here is a picture of how a new battery pod was cut to fit the old style Excal that I have. I used a new alkaline pod and stuffed it with a NiMH 10 cell pack that is commercially available; would need the same plastic cutting with a new standard pod. It leaves the old Excal unmodified, just in case you ever find a good old style pod.
Cheers,
tvr
