older excal info

Hi, I was hoping someone could give me some info on a battery pod for the older sword model..I've had a fair hunt around the battery sticky but I am none the wiser! I've bought a sword from fee bay and pick it up next month I would like to get a spare alkaline pod for it (to fit nimh pack, already ordered with aftermarket charger) the only pod I can find online is listed for 800 and 1000 models (even though the photograph shows the pod as an excal 11 one) so will this pod fit the older model? I've seen comments about cutting pods to size is this just for attaching to the shaft? my main concern would be if the connectors are different?
please forgive me if this is a dumb question...I have never seen an excal in the flesh!

thanks in advance, happy hunting!

Ikelite connection is the same, but the shaft mount is different and needs moded
needs sized, just for attaching to the shaft
I think there is a old post on that if you do a search....

Link has picture of an alkaline pod cut to fit the old sword model.

Good work TVR, Next year I'll be knocking on your door from the shore....

OBN,
If I were in position to retire, I'd be coming into more hunting places from the water too! A couple more years and then watch out for more competition.

Just be careful out there!!
