Older ElDorado?

Are the old large box, pre- U-max ElDorados a good machine? Do they stack up well against the new Vaquero? And what would a good one be worth? Thanks for any info.

All the older Tesoros are still excellent machines to use but, don't expect to get the depth that the newer U-max models does.
I wouldn't pay more than half of what a current good used Eldo U-max goes for. I got my Eldo Umax for $225.00 (almost like new
looking). The going price on ebay is $225-250 on average for the Umax.

If your a collector of metal detectors you maybe willing to pay more for an older minty metal box Eldo.

Thanks for the info Sven. I am not a collector by any means, just a novice with questions. Been looking at a few other Tesoros as maybe a backup/replacement for the Sidewinder which i am waiting to get back from Tesoro after they check it out for me. Placed a bid on an Amigo but got outbid. I didn't want to go over $75-$80 for it. Now looking at a Cutlass II and an old ElDorado. Or i may just get a 7" or 8 1/2" wide scan coil for the Sidewinder and just use it for now. If i can find someone with a good wide scan coil at a reasonable price.
