Where have you found it, what did you find, what year is the coin and how deep was it? Parks? Private homesteads? What machine, coil and settings did you use? Please share your experience. Thank you. HH. Matt

Mostly at unhunted site. The bigger the easter to find.
A few Barber quarters and a 1891 Seated Quarter at a farm house front yard.

GMan is correct....unhunted sites. Since they are pretty easy to pick up. The last 3 halves I got were from unhunted spots. They could have been detected, but no one thought to detect where they were found.

Thanks for the info guys. I find myself obsessed with my two areas of the 'clean fill' dumps in my town and the next town. 2-3 times a week they dump fresh fill from replaced sidewalks, roads and under the road pipes. I often pick up clad just sitting right on top of the pile. Eventually the piles are bulldozed flat making the hunt start all over again. Then more piles appear and the cycle continues. One of the guys that dumps fill for the boro came over to talk to me. Turns out he has found quite a few sweet old coins just by using his eyes! This is the same guy who reached behind his truck seat, pulled out one of those 'tri-fold' military shovels and gave it to me. The cops have been cool when they see me lurking around and come over to check me out. People passing by are interested in what I'm doing in a good way. My dog loves me extra because I take her with me detecting. Now I just need to find some big old silver. Thanks for reading. HH. Matt
