And savor the moment. I called my pooch over for some fruit snacks-we always share some after a good find.

Brushed the dirt from the disc & saw the face staring back at me...The face of a RAT!....Or a mouse but I was dissapointed.

I did a search on CEC coins & this is the holy grail of all chucky cheese coins-The very rare "Super Token"...Made 1983-4 for the Portland Oregon market only. Not sure how many were made but finding this coin where I did was strange at least.

I know the area had some fill dirt-deep cans were the tell.. But I figured it may have been soil dumped by the county-from a nearby park. So today I gave it a more thorough search & came up with a few turn of the century headstamps & a really nice homeade wrought iron tack hanger. This is more of what I would expect at this spot judging by looks...

How the coin got there I'll never know-probably some kid lost it playing. But its actually got some value so I guess I'll do my best to carfeully clean it & maybe somebody will make an offer..

But dang that edge sure looked nice poking from the side of my plug...

LOL, well not really gold colored but a find. Some of them are quite valuable and rare. You wlll know a gold coin when you find it.

Does this mean your dog has to give back his part of the snack? hope not.

HH

I though you had found a gold coin at first by title. Reminded me of a gold disk i found 2 yrs ago. Mine did have a reeded edge, but had smooth Obv and Rev , with engraved name and other inscription. Turned out to be a gold coin that was transformed into a gold pendant. I guess I can count it as a gold coin still. HH

And of course doggie got her snacks...She's the best behaved dog and deserves a treat.

But if you have a picture of the gold coin token I'd love to see it...

And yes-yours counts-I'd wager its a heck of a lot rarer than a standard gold coin...

Mine is actually rare for a CEC token & worth more(according to the guide) than a standard silver dollar @ melt...But like I said- I sat down to savor what I was sure was a honker of an old coin-gold or otherwise-and then to see that rat-it wa a ??? moment. But once I googled it I was a bit happier with my find. But I'd be waaaaay happier for a Gold coin of any size.

Still looking-

Cheers!

:yikes: Thought you had some "G" in the hole. Maybe next time. :detecting:
