Old time way of scanning that really produces coins....

THis method requires a lot of patience. If you're always in a hurry forget it. This works well on grassy areas, soccer and sports fields where you can mentally grid an area to search.

Start out standing still while scanning out as far as you can reach in front of you, being careful to watch the coil and overlap each sweep more than 50%. THen leaving your coil sitting on the ground where you ended your last sweep, walk forward, stop, and repeat the process. You will miss very little real estate this way, above and below the ground and you will be surprised at the amount of coins you collect.

THe coins I collected today were recovered using this method in a strip of soccer field about eight feet wide and fifty feet long. I once titled this method as " Creep and Sweep". But it pays off if you want to take the time.

I also do this in the water. Very thorough and helps when you cant see your coil.

It sure do. I think I wrote an article about that method or included it in another article about 137 years ago. :)
