Needing a little help with some numbers on the AT Pro relic hunting in good ground Looking for some numbers where mini balls hit..buttons...brass...Thanks for help in advanced...Hunt in plowed fields just about all the time.

Round balls tend to read in the mid to high 60s. Three ringers and other minni balls from 69-72.
I have dug flat buttons from low 50s right up to 80. Coat size eagles Id in the 70s - 80s.

I.ve been off and on with metal detector since 1986. 1st the Sea hunter, Minelabs, then Whites V3. Now i,m back in again. I live in vietnam. My wife is 45 years old and I am 63y.o. We been married 7 years and very happy. I just order a new detector but it wasnt a garretts. I have been reading about AT PRO AND GOLD and have been watching videos about these units. My question is If I buy a AT PRO OR GOLD would people get mad if I do a field test between the garrett and minelab. Would I be booted out. I dont want no trouble. It would be a honest test stock coil vs stock coil.

Knock yourself out! I, like most reasonable people, take these comparison "tests" with a grain of salt. Metal detectors like golf clubs fishing poles guns and cars can be identical, but get very different results in the hands of different users. See it's all about knowing and using your detector. Put a guy with a $200 detector that has used it for years and is proficient with it up against a guy new to the hobby with a brand new top of the line expensive machine and I will put my money on the experienced guy with the cheap detector every time. You can do any comparison you want but I have to ask Why? Seems like a waste of time and effort to me and I would rather be hunting than "comparing" but hey, to each his own, have fun!
