Old technology still working just fine....

I got out for a couple of hours this afternoon. I hit an old yard here in town that I had hit earlier this year. I was using a cz6a with a 5 inch coil on it. Sens at 5, Volume at 5, mellow ground. You really can tell by the softness of the hit if a coin is deep or not. I even quit digging zincs after 12 of them, none deep. I dug 7 wheat cents from 191? to 1941, a bunch of clad, a nice sterling ring with a greenish stone in it and 2 cool tokens. These tokens are almost as big as a half dollar. One was for Ford V8's. It had 30 years of progress on one side and the dates-1903-1933. It was in a hole with a nail but still gave a good signal.
And.....I found pirate gold!! At least that is what the token says. It's dated 1650 on one side with a pirate head and the other side says one doubloon. Probably some kind of game token??? Had a blast. Can't afford a new detector like an F75 so I guess a trusty cz will just have to do. Looking forward to taking it to the beach on our anniversary trip. Bob.

nice finds bob. have a cz3d and really enjoy it, just waiting for them to get the beans picked so i can get out. picking is running 2 to 3 weeks behind here. again nice finds. mike

behind in the harvest this year. I work with a guy who also farms and he says they will be lucky to not be pushing snow in the rows by the time it's done.
That also puts a hex on the pheasant hunting season opener which falls on Halloween day this year. To many places for the birds to hide out.

I picked up this cz6a here on findmall mainly to take to my anniversary beach trip. This was my first outing with it. I had one back when they were first being phased out(1999-ish??) or earlier so I knew what it could do. I rarely pinpoint with it as I hate the pinpoint whine the cz's make.

There are probably better detectors on the market(for MUCH more money) but for as often as I get out and the enjoyment level it brings me, this cz6a will suit me fine for some time to come. Maybe a new detector when I retire??? Remember, for great finds the three most important things are: LOCATION-LOCATION-LOCATION. If nothing much happend where you are detecing, then nothing much will be found. I love finding OLD stuff, coins and tokens in particular. HH. Bob.

hi bob. got to agree on location, i spend 90 percent of my time in the library going over old newspapers and micro-film looking for the old fairgrounds, racetracks, picnic grounds, etc. most of these are located where fields are now, so my hunting is limited also to usually a month and a half after picking to month and half before planting. have found many pre- 1900 coins at these sites in the 2 years i have had my cz , so yes it suits my needs to. mike

I agree with you guys CZ3D doing just fine I have thought about the f-75s, e-trac,ect. but my finds keep me faithful to my machine also I am a firm believer
that you have to know your machine I have had mine for close to a year now and learn something new every time I go out.The only drawback might be that the machines are a little heavier but if it puts the good stuff in my pocket I cant complain.

hi tndiggin. i guess i cant complain to much about the cz weight, i ran a garrett master hunter 7 for 20 years. those things were built like a tank, and almost as heavy. hh mike.

Had all the high tech machines--but the CZ's as good as it gets.

Not to worry as a CZ will serve you well, simplicity and a depth demon combined surely rival all of the new fangled units..

Another great thing about the 6A ... you don't need to worry about the detector when it starts raining and you are in the middle of a field.

I got it for a great beach detector also. It hits hard on the mid tone stuff. To find a silver ring the first time out on land with it really upped my confidence level that it will find the goodies. Bob.

Also certainly one of the best saltwater beach units with its salt mode...why fix what ain't broke ought to cover it...
