Old Store With Living Quarters...............

Kelley (Texas)

New member
As I was driving through a small town, I spotted this old store with living quarters upstairs. Believe it or not, this old store is still in business, but no one lives upstairs anymore. I noticed that it does not have central air conditioning, old window units built into the wall. I would venture a guess that this was probably built in the late 1940's, maybe early 1950's. I wonder who the folks were that worked at this old store, living upstairs, just trying to make a living. Kelley (Texas) :)

As I was taking this picture, an old man rounded the corner and asked me what I was doing. When I told him that I was just taking a picture, he said that was fine with him. After I took the picture, I went inside to thank him. He had just an assortment of general store type items, nothing special or old. No, I did not buy anything at the store. Kelley (Texas) :)

I love the picture Kelley! Great shot! I love the old general stores. Look at that light up above the door (top of the stairs) looks relatively new. Never mind navigating those stairs at night, I wouldn't even attempt it in broad daylight lol
