old star button help please....

hey all, found this last night and curious if anyone can possibly identify it? it is small, if I had to guess a little small than half the size of a dime and still has some of the gold inlay left in the star. I found it at my property where I have recovered numerous Large cents and other coins ranging from 1818 to 1899..
 
Hey man! I have several buttons very similar to this of yours. They are small, with drawings of star and dots, but they are not all equal if they are very similar. I have heard that people who collect buttons, this type was used in lingerie by the military with graduation nineteenth century ...
I hope you get more and better information.
