Greetings all,
After over 5 years of researching, a lot of hiking, detecting the wrong areas and total frustraations, I finally located an old site that dates back to 1895. I got out there last Friday and got some decent detecting time in and found a bunch of modern clad and got this 1941 Walking Liberty at the site. The part I was hunting I think is the parking area and didnt find the site where the old buildings were (well not yet LOL). Hopefully I will get back out there this week to explore a little bit further.
I have to give a special thanks to NebTrac for this find. He did a post a while back about target seperation and good targets. I didnt really pay attention to this but I realized that I was doing it for a while now but the Walker was the proof. I heard the nice silver sound but it was very broken but did catch my attention. When I pinpointed it, I got the null and and was able to work around it. When I dug, I forund a top to an old iron can or whatever the thing was. I ran the coil over the hole and BINGO got that AWESOME silver sound we all look for.......Just had to share
