Old site gives up 2 crusty buffaloes

Well the old site that showed potential with the 1907 nickel and the cool old hatchet head only gave up a crusty no-date and a 1918 buffalo nickel out of the same hole. That hard ground beat me down pretty bad. Lots of aluminum slaw was driving me crazy, too. Moving on to a new location next time 'til the construction crews on the old site uncover some more ground. They're building a church parking lot that's already covered most of the property.

I love it when old churches replace their sidewalks or parking lots. I get permission, and of course timing is everything, sometimes in the same afternoon they remove the pavers, grade, and put in re rod before you get a chance. Have to keep driving by to catch the right moment. Good Luck, CO
