I had some excitement on Friday. My wife was traveling to another town on the East side of the State to do some training. I was the designated driver. I had just recently discovered a site on the Internet that provided old maps on line so I brought up the town that we were going to and found a park that was there when the maps were published in 1909. I then did a Google Earth search and found the park and it was in the same location on the satellite photo, I first got out the "Yellow Fellow (Ace 250)' & hunted a chip pit and found nothing. Then I got out the ET and started hunting the park. I dug a few clad and then got a signal about half way down the depth scale. I dug down and saw what I knew was silver of some kind. I love the Barber design and there it was. A 1905. Not in good condition at all but the big payoff was doing the research and then finding something old. I was somewhat paranoid about what the parks folks might think about me detecting there being a new area and all. A crew drove up and started trimming trees and throwing them in a chipper. They didn't even give me a second look. Without the Grey Ghosts I suspect I would have had to wait until they left as that chipper was loud. Jim
