My brother and I went back to the old scout camp on Sunday. The ground was perfect as we have two days of rain earlier in the week. Easy digging and we found a lot more coins down six to seven inches. I used a CZ7A pro and he used a white whatever model.
We ended up with 35 coins in four hours. We had 7 wheats with the oldest being 1917 and three silver dimes, 1944 Mercury and 1952 & 1959 Roosevelt. It was almost like hunting virgin ground the way the damp soil gave up these coins. What a huge difference it made. Had my volume at 6 and sensitivity at 4.
Hope to get out one more time before taking a turkey hunting hiatus. Nice to see so many sucessful posts out there.
