Got this today--I've heard good things about the board (Sov X2 R1.1), phones and Seasearch coil. I've also gotten great results with this board using a WOT in all-metal--great audio--tells you a lot about the target before you even go to disc. Also very deep, like 20" plus on a silver dime in packed sand. This one is like new--gotta love those guys who buy a detector and never touch it! Kind of like a time capsule. Also have to give credit to Minelab in that the build quality of this machine is superb--ahead of it's time. Owning one when they came out--when there was tons of stuff to find--you would have been like King Kong.

That looks brand new. Where did you find it? Wish I could find one.

Nice find, I own three NYs and a Excal 1000.

Clive, That is Beautiful~!! Question, when was the last time you seen a headphone coiled cord like that...Big, Strong and made in Australia!! Thanks for Posting.....

I know! Was very impressed by that too. Best I've ever seen. Only MGM uses anything like it. Scored it on e-bay--was outbid at first but then the winner got cold feet and the selller shot me a second offer thing. Haviing owned a couple of Excals I know that nicking the finish on the case over time is unavoidable--this one showed none in the photos. When it got here the top (phones) end cap had a layer of brown dust from being stood upright somewhere--[methinks]-- "ya done good son...!" Probably woud not try to hipmount with the old school cable though.

You dont get performance and build quality like that any more. They get crazy depth and are put together like they cared. I was even impressed when i saw the headphone cable on a 1000 over the II. You got all the good toys Mel.

Sweet find Clive!! Congrats!!

Used mine for a short while before and after I re-built the battery packs with a type of battery prone to over-charge.

Fried my circuit board!!

Too soon old, too late smart!!

Hi cjc, nice unit. i was excited to see it as i just bought the exact same model yesterday as my first ever M/D. Im glad to read all the good comments about this unit, it makes me feel a little better about my purchase. Im brand new to this hobby (addiction) as in i dont even know anybody who owns a M/D. I plan on doing beach and under water hunting mostly so from what ive read on here and seen on you tube i thought for the money it was too good to go passed. Going to try it out tomorrow for the first time, so fingers crossed. HH

Nice machine! That is sweeeet! Those coils are well sought after, there are supposed to be the best. Good luck with it! Post some pics of your finds :)
