Old ring and horsemanship plate

Beach hunt in San Diego yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours. My third target was this old-looking ring that appears to have an amber stone. The underside has an "895" mark, as well as "T11" and another ornate mark you can see in the photo. I also found a brass(?) plate that has a barely readable engraving that reads "Round Robin 1962 Shawn 8 Blue Angel V.F.P. 62 Round Robin Western Horsemanship" I'll be researching that one! Also found a sterling fish ring and a sterling medical bracelet that has the name and disease ("Diabetes") of the owner on the back. Didn't want to show that side of the bracelet for medical confidentiality reasons! I also found a big (7" x 2.5") metal ladle or spoon that seems to have some age to it. I'm not familiar with this particular beach year-round, but it looks like a lot of erosion has occurred there this winter.

Gulf Hunter, I'm using the Excal 1000 w/10" coil. I've benefitted greatly from the Excal discussions on this forum - thanks!

I'll try to post some better close-ups next week. A friend of mine is going to polish the ring up for me.

and the beach sounds intersting, might have some history to it. I'd say there's much more buried so if the sand shifts, go for it. The local library or shire might be able to give you some info on what sort of buildings, if any used to be there, or if there are any wrecks off shore that might cough up little hidden treasures. You finds do look "older".
Golden:)
