Hey all. My brother found this and it looks really old. About 7 inches deep out in the woods with the T2. Jesus in one side and Mary on the other, looks like it could he pewter. Anyone seen one like this before or know how old it is? Thanks for taking a look.

Man that is beautiful. Any way of taking a magnifying glass and recording the letters on
each one. I wouldn't know but that would greatly help someone who is knowledgeable
in Christian Relics. Great find. Also, what did it hit on the detector, silver, copper, brass,
or did you just find it in the hole with something else?

The only thing it says on it is "Infinite" I believe. It rang up in the coin range on the T2.

It says more but it is hard to read. I need a loupe.

I have been able to make out, starting behind Jesus head:

IESV

unknown, looks like it ends with IVS

INFINITAS

unknown but looks like MISERER and then there are more letters.

The side with Mary has just as much writing but it is to hard to read and I dont want to clean it as I think that would ruin the piece.

Since its a Catholic medal you might take it to the local church and see if they know anything about it.

I took it to a few churches and they didnt seem to know much. I did figure out the latin on the side with Jesus with the help of someone online.
