More importantly, where did you find a patch of grass left in Chantilly. Last time I was home for a visit it looked like they were putting up townhouse complexes everywhere and paving everything. I remember when Chantilly was considered in the sticks.

I found this in chantilly Va they were 3 feet apart.
They are clam shaped and might have been hinged together. any ideas?

Could be a novelty nutcracker:). An uncle had one very similar when I was a kid in the early 1950's . His was hinged and when closed it looked a lot like the one in the photo. He got a good scolding from my mother for letting me and one of my cousins see it.
