Old Piece with Star found in Texas

Tico

Member
Was hunting some old ground in Texas yesterday. Dug this piece with star on it.
Appears to be Copper with a clasp on back and signs of 2 other connectors of some type.
At the tip appears to be an old break.
I have no idea what this is or was part of.
My first guess is some sort of Horse tack adornment. Martingale , rossette.
Could it be Texas revolution Period.
Good to speculate, best find I have made in awhile.
Size is 2 1/4" wide X 1 3/4" high
