Old park next to old steel mill

Found a park that's from the 1900's now that would have good but for one thing, it sits next to a old steel mill that's been there since the 1940's ground is so hot from dust from the mill it's like working a detector over a pice of steel plate. Had the silver umax , over load no matter how I set it. Going to go back when the outlaw gets in and see if it will work. Has to be some good stuff in there if I can get under the dust. :sadwalk:

can you try all metal ? maybe even no motion and hit the retune to tune out the signal , that way something my come thru challenging ground for sure

I will try that when I get the outlaw in, it just over powers the silver umax This is going to be slow going anyway around. The road that runs by dates from around 1800 or a bit before so this could be a fun site.

that is one old road, if you can deal with that slag you just might find something really good

Often a smaller coil helps in bad ground because it reads less area - worth keeping in mind.

Yes sir, that's one I'm going to try. Do it like I did in the old days. Pick out 20 by 20 and clean it out foot by foot. Did a school like that one time that had pull tabs at the edge of some black top. Under it all was old Silver, it did take all Summer but I pulled $50 out from under that trash.

You pulled 50.00 bucks in change out from that small spot ? was it silver? thats amazing

Sorry I didn't say that the right way. I did it in 20x20 foot spots. It was about 50 yards long. Yes all silver, that was in 1978 I don't think I will ever do agine. School was built in 1958. Never had a detector on it before that. And like I said it was all summer working out the tabs to get under them.
