Old park hunt. :garrett:

Hit the on button of the A T this morning at 7:10. At 7:30 I unearthed my 1st silver, a 1902 Barber quarter that was 6" deep and totally on edge. Fortunately, I didn't kiss this one. Although I am grateful, unfortunately, that was the one and only silver for my 3 1/2 hour hunt. Near the end of the hunt, I did snag a nice 3 ringer. Which, are always a pleasant surprise.

About mid way through my hunt, I was un-earthing a fairly tight 4 clad quarter spill when I spotted a "bum" looking fellow sauntering in my direction. As he got near he asked, "is that was one of those things that finds money?" I said, "if I get lucky once in a while once it does." He further asked if I could spare $1.50 for a breakfast sandwich? I said yes and used the water in my small water bottle that I use for holding special goodies and rinsed off the 4 quarters I had just recovered and added another 2 from my pouch. He thanked me about five times and finally headed off for breakfast, I think, and hope.

On the side of the trash in the first picture is a bent nail. That was in the same hole as was a Memorial cent. And, I was using the 11" coil.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and found some goodies if able to hunt. HH jim tn

Congrats on the silver Jim! Nice of you to share your clad with the guy! Your generosity will be rewarded ten fold!

Well done man...gotta "pay the gate" every so often...its also cool that if you ever needed to provide yourself with a breakfast sandwich, you have the tools and skills to do it.

That's a good looking Barber, Jim! I often seem to find a nice target first thing, then spend a couple of hours trying to shake another one loose, heh. Kind of you to help the old fellow out. Good thing he didn't ask for a 1902 Barber quarter, though! :starwars:

Real nice find on the Barbara Quarter.... I hope that did not get mixed in the change for the sandwich as you are great to help someone in need. Thanks for sharing even about what size coil you had on your machine. I have one on order (At pro) as I pound the keyboard.

Nice going! I missed this post way back when it went up. The AT is really good on those "edgy" coins.
Congrats!
