i know this is a metal detecting forum but i thought the members here might find this interesting. me and my brother about 2hrs ago, while cleaning a small closet found 1919 may 1-12 newspapers, the people that built this house i think used it as pading. this is about 4 months after WW1 so yea.. but anyways the pictures is on a phone so i will post pictures in the comments.. found some really interesting things while looking at around 20 newspapers from 1919. also i couldn't get the pics for the half dollar but i think i figured out how, so yea.

happy hunting!

Check the papers and see if there's pics or anything like that you could use while checking out detecting spots. Those papers are some great finds.

Cool. I always thought the advertising in old newspaper's was fun to look at.

Good advice on using them to possibly discover a new hunting spot.

by the way i did find a overlook on Chicago but i live no where near so i will get another pic up with Chicago on it, maybe one of someone on here would find it interesting, but there is ALOT of stuff about the troops coming home from WW1, Germany civil war, and a little article on russian menace i put it on there but it's sideways.. it's really really interesting

but for the most part me and my brother want to put it in a historical Museam

The museum experts can preserve the newspapers so the don't break at the folds, don't force them. Ask for a DVD photocopy of the pages.

They use to use old newspapers to insulate houses. With them that damaged, you'll not want to spend any money on them to preserve them. But they sure are cool to read and look at. Nice finds.

You don't need a detector to go treasure hunting do you ?........:clapping: Those are very interesting and I'm sure a local museum would love to have them.

Very cool finds. I purchased a paper the day my grandchildren were born and plan to give them to them someday. Maybe they can have a good laugh years from now.

I really like the historic value of your finds!!
