1892 v shield and barber do these nickels ever come out good lol

For the most part Bryan, no they don't. You might be able to improve them a little by soaking in olive oil but cleaning sometimes does more damage than good by destroying some of the details.
.

Very nice finds Bryan. Wait.....let me get my tissues to wipe my tears. No they don't come out very good at all, but still one heck of a find. I use "3 in one oil" and soak the nickels overnight and it seems to help out a little and sometimes I can see the date then. I can't wait to see them at the meeting. Hopefully you can come up with a date on the others.

OK, that does it.. I'm going detecting today!!!! HH to all, Nancy

either pass on nickel-like signals and just "silver shoot", of just not be all that excited about finding them. To be sure, I've found ugly nickels to good looking specimens at least 5-to-1 (when talking about Buffalo, 'V', and Shield varieties). As a matter of fact, at some sites where I might luck upon a Buffalo, or a similar ugly condition Indian Head cent, I will just concentrate on good copper 1

They are perfect just the way they are Bryan, Very nice nickels............:clapping:
