Since most of the silver coins have been cherry picked from our local parks, I have to be satisfied with digging a lot of lower conductive targets, The old nickels are fun but the 10 beaver tails I dig for every nickel I find is getting to be a pain !! Park Pirate and I hit a park in a different city trying to change our luck but we ended up with the usual finds. Tony got a V nickel and a nice old dog tag while I managed 2 more V nickels (#'s 19 & 20) and 2 more Buffalo nickels (#'s 32 & 33). Decided to go for 80 old nickels before the ground freezes. That would be about double what I normally dig in a typical year !

Wow! I am impressed! I went out for an hour and only got two clad dimes. Way to go Ed!

Where abouts in NY state are you Ed..Im in Niagara County ,near the falls. The parks are tattered around here as well.have to find the really heavy trash and pick thru it slow to get anything good,or it has to be really deep, beyond most folks detectors reach.

Weather's turning my friend- I would imagine we've got our share of nickels here in Mass for you as well! Keep up the great finds and hopefully we'll hook up fairly soon!

Your nickel count to me is amazing. I found my "first and only" no date Buff on Saturday and I felt it was better than a silver for all the junk I dug, plus nine wheats. So in my book you're "Making my day!"

I was sent to Durham new York for summers, my Grand Parents would watch me for the summer. my parents did not want me running around in the Bronx in the summer. I have great memories of that place. my uncle still has a house right across from Frank Hulls place. I went up around 4-5 years ago and tried weed wacking the grass down. the thatch was so thick my metal detector would not lock on to anything. it was like having the detector out of the ground by 5-6 ins. On your Minelab what do nickels read?? I am going to help a friend next week and he has a Minelab but I am a Whites guy. Maybe next time I go up for a visit I will contact you and we can hunt the grounds together. it would be next year God Willing. I know its cherry and around a half acre to detect. I am bringing my mover next visit. You ever weed wack a half acre?? Even Frank was amazed I did that. I am sure if you are from Albany you heard of Hull o Farms
