Old & New Goldens & 53 Silver demo..............

 I just watched 53 Silver's demo on the NEW Golden uMax. It was excellent.:clapping: I tried to do exactly what he did using the notch feature on my OLDER Golden uMax. Everything worked the same EXCEPT when I flipped the notch switch to "narrow" I lost the zinc penny while he DID NOT lose the zinc penny. Then when he switched to "wide" he lost the zinc. When I switched to "wide" there was no difference.:ranting:
NOW,...I have sent the unit in TWICE to have this checked.:rage: It came back BOTH TIMES with a note saying that it was functioning OK. So000,.....WHAT GIVES ??????? ( By the way, I am not upset with Tesoro,..they are GREAT...just need some ANSWERS.)

I have a similar issue with my Silver not making same tones as Tabmans video (i.e. breaking up on foil, tabs etc so clearly) I wonder if it is just a matter of tolerance in settings..anyhow i feel your frustration.

 My suspicion is that the notch window is set too high, but I am not an engineer or repairman and barely have enough knowledge to understand all this stuff. I just want a detector that works as it should. Mine picks up all the small gold rings at these settings but skips all the large gold rings (like solid gold class rings). I have heard that the notch feature on the older Silver Sabre II and the old Pantera was much better, but again, not sure what they are saying.

The internal notch width adjustment is set too high on the Golden. It needs to be sent to Tesoro for an adjustment with a note stating exactly what the problem is. Swapping out coils can also cause this problem, so send in the coil that you plan on using with the detector.

To get the Silver

 Yes, Tabman...that's what I think it is too. I have contacted Tesoro about it. Maybe third time will do the trick. I thought I explained what was happening the first time,...but I guess they didn't get what I was saying. I don't know. I hate to send it in again because I use it all the time. :detecting::tesoro:

will try that idea Tabman
