Andre i used that meter with my GT for a year it worked fine Jim

Is that the 550 meter? If so, many have been converted to a 180 meter as most charts use that scale and most seem to prefer it for more VDI stability, although there are some who like the 550 scale. Way I look at it a 180 scale is already the highest resolution on the market compared to pretty much any other machine that I know of (?) in terms of the foil to copper penny range of conductors. Sure, the FBS machines have a 2D VDI but in terms of conductivity they are limited. For instance, 0 to about 38 (roughly where copper pennies start) conductivity scale on the Etrac. Does anybody know of a machine that has higher conductivity resolution than the 180 meter on the Sovereign. Sure, some have better coin type resolution but I'm talking from foil to copper penny range?

This is the older Minelab 550 meter that was made around 1998 or so, it wasn't as stable as the newer 550 meter like on the Elite, but they do work. This meter can be made into a 180 meter if you like and I have a few kits left to do this, but they have to be soldered in if you decide to buy this meter and want a 180 meter. I have seen some that don't work on the GT also and not sure why, but will work on the XS series Sovereigns. Now depending on what the person wants for this meter as it maybe easier and cheaper for a Ron's meter.

The Sovereign SX-2 meter i got on e-bay 2 years ago worked perfect on the GT it was used, someone had it changed to 180 , if i ran the coil over iron the meter will show -495 everything else is like a 180 meter . Jim
