HI ALL,
I FOUND THIS BUTTON WITH MY X50 THE OTHER DAY IN AN AREA WHERE I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL SILVER COINS DATING FROM THE MID TO LATE 1800'S, AND WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE CAN GIVE ME ANY INFO ON IT. THERE WAS ALOT OF CIVIL WAR ACTION IN MY AREA OF OHIO. THE BUTTON ALSO APPEARS TO BE SILVER.
THANKS, DAVE

Hi Dave;
GS buttons date 1902 and later, with most dating to WW II era. However, there is a few variations in your button that suggest it may have been a similar copy and used on civilian sport coats. The circle of stars above the eagle should surround a cluster of stars. There should also be a shield on the eagles chest, etc. Interesting button, one I haven't seen before. Good hunting, David@Dixie
