Old Military Button:crazy:

Last Tuesdays hunt with SD, a very windy day; found several .30 cal bullet heads and cartridges, one .50 cal head, two .30 cal links, a few sinkers, aluminum religious metal, some change, cell phone that was drowned, a pair of sunglasses that the old lady confiscated. No gold or silver for me, but I found a Federal General Service military button that is marked Scovill MFG Co. Waterbury on the back side. Kind of confused on the actual date but I think it was made during the Indian War era. If anyone can pin the date down let me know. The brass wire was attached to the button when I found it, would like to know why it is on there. Soldered two .30 cal heads to the cartridges and buffed them up to a mirror finish to go with my .50 cal. Head stamps FA 9 10 and D 18, very old .30 cals.Happy hunting!!!

It's really striking how those cartridges turned out. They are like a piece of art. Very nice.
