Old lighter

My stepson found this a couple of days ago near an old barn. It was shallow so there was no damage when he uncovered it. It is an old Ronson Crown cigarette lighter. I guess maybe 1940's-50's. Any ideas as to age? Surprised the felt was still there. Probably because it was out of the weather in an outbuilding. Just thought it might be interesting to some of the oldtimers out there (including myself).
