Old hunted park gives up a few keepers!:yo:

Lately my hunting partner and I both feel like we've been missing a bunch of old coins. I see all the posts on here of deep old coins and decided that I needed to concentrate on depth. We both mostly use the 6x10 DD coil, and decided to put our stock coils back on. We hunted a park that we had both been to many times, and right away I found a wheat penny at about 6". Hunted for a while and then had a little picnic with the wives and kids, and was just getting ready to pack up the car when I got a good signal at about 5-6 inches and pulled out my first silver rosie! I got up this morning wanting to go back and got a chance in the morning for about an hour and a half. I found three more wheaties in that time and was super excited. Called my hunting partner and we made plans to meet up there later for a quick hunt this evening. We got to the park and I think it was his very first coin signal and it was the 1930 Buffalo Nickel in the photo. We were both super pumped and knew that there had to be other good stuff to be had. It was getting late and I looked up and he was sitting on a bench, so it must be time to go. I started walking towards him with my md swinging by my side when I got a good signal. I looked down and saw this it was a penny signal 4-5 inches down. I dug it up and to my surprise it was a 1906 Indian penny, wow this is my first!! I nicked one of the wheat pennies pretty good, oops but at least it wasn't the Indian. We both ordered 10"DD Excelerator coils last week and can't wait to go back there and see what sort of deep stuff we can find. This was my buddies first Buffalo nickel and my first Indian penny, so it was a regular pow wow here in Montana!

Very nice finds...........

I love my stock coil also. Many many old coins have been found with it, but then also love the little coils to get inbetween the trash. Each coil has it's place. BIG congrats on both of your firsts. Very nice finds! HH to all, Nancy

thats definatly some good finds, congrats!

I was the guy that found the buffalo nickel with him. I knew it was a good signal when it was at 4" and reading between 18-20 VDI. Can't wait to go back to the old park!

Those coins are nice keepers. Your decision to order the 10" DD Excelerator is a good one. I have a new one and I am happy with its performance. HH Dennis in Idaho

Congrats to you too Matt! I love those Buffalo nickels and Indian cents!!!! HH, Nancy
