Got a nice tip from a feller' Sunday about an old house site back in the woods and he also gave me permission to hunt it...so I loaded up the quad and off Herky and I went.
It was a pretty good ways to the old site and I had to do a little searching...but finally located the old well and pump so I figured it would be a good place to start.

There was so much crap in the ground that I got tired of digging up pieces and chunks of tin so I finally decided to concentrate on lower conductor hits.
I know....absolutely NOT what I like to do but I didn't have a whole lot of time so I decided to step away from the norm for me.
I did dig a lot of crap but honestly there were less low conductor hits than high ones...so I kept trying them.
After about 2 hours or so I casually dug another plug and expected nothing but trash again.
I nearly loaded my britches when I saw the glimmer of yellow in the hole

It's really strange and wonderful how the hobby gives up a thrill like this out of nowhere
Somebody probably lost this 14K wedding band as they were obtaining water or carrying a bucket to or from the pump as I found it within 15 feet of the old concrete well foundation.

On the way home I stopped by the old feller's house and asked him if he'd like to have it since it was on his property.
I explained to him that I only like the thrill of the hunt and couldn't care less about selling anything.
He refused to take it and told me I was welcome to come back and hunt any time.
I didn't find a single coin but also didn't cover much ground because of all the digging which I'm NOT accustomed to at most sites I hunt.
There is plenty of area for me to cover so I'll be going back when time allows.
I truthfully love to find old coins over jewelry...but I'll sure as heck take this for a shocker.

Thanks for viewing and good luck on your next hunt.
