I went out with my lil' man today and scored a couple firsts. I finally landed some old silver, and the elusive indian head cent. I also scored my first Barber dime. Man, thats almost as fun as diggin a bullet when that pretty silver coin pops out.(almost) Also scored a Lynchburg token. I've hit this house a couple times and my machine was having a hard time, but today it was on fire. It must of balanced better today. Who knows. Heres my take....

WOW! What a haul and I love the little army guy. too bad he wasn't all there. Nice finds and congrats. HH, Nancy

Great finds, you got a little of everything . . .old coins, old silver, button, toy . . .that's the hunt you're always hoping for . . .

That looks like you had one great hunt, wish I could find a spot like that.

Thanks guys, theres a whole mile of houses like this in our historic part of town. Nice clean trash free yards in a historicaly wealthy neighborhood. Bula, that was my second trip to that house, these places are everywhere, trust me. You just have to keep your eyes open and do a little research and swing that coil like crazy. I have a Civil War earthworks on some private property that I hopefully will get to this weekend, cant wait.

Nice job. Nice coins. Great pics. CCH

Great finds, and congrats on those firsts!

"my machine was having a hard time, but today it was on fire."

Could be the moisture levels in the ground. My MXT Pro shows significant improvement when I'm in moist ground vs. dry, hard soil. I don't know about you, but here in the Shenandoah Valley, we've had lots of rains recently and I've noticed a huge improvement on the strength of signals on my MXT. I'd assume that's true on all machines - improved conductivity.

Nice finds!

Yeah, the moisture always helps. But what I was getting were false signals and such. I may have ground balanced it in a bad spot or something. The soil is perfect right now and plan on putting it to the test on some c.w. areas today and tomorrow.
