Old Homesite Dig Today

Went to an old home site today, found the owner and got permission, the yard was clean,so it was easy to detect.Went out with my DFX300,USING A SMALL 6 INCH DOUBLE D excellerator coil.I was there about an hour.I was concentrating on coins ,so all I was digging, was deep pennys, and silver if I could find any,and it was a good hunt, 4 wheats,2 very old..1910,and a 1917..1928,1929.several nickels, pic is of a 1943 p war nickel that hit dead on at 21 on the vdi...the four dimes were hitting at 81..the 2 mercs were 1925,1936..the 2 rosies, 1951,1961...the quarter hit at 84 and was a 1964...The pennys just cleaned with soap and tooth brush, the same with the silver, only after cleaning with soap and toothbrush I made a paste out od baking powder and water ,no key dates here,so no harm in cleaning them up,but this paste removes all the dirt and they shine like new. Thanks for looking.

SORRY FOR PHOTO

Not bad for a day, I don't think I found 4 silver all last year.

I am retired and get to go 3 or 4 times a week.2012,i dug 58 silver coins.I have many old mills around the area, and the homes around these mills are from 1870's to early 1930's.so i have some great finds,i often switch up and go for jewelry at the surrounding parks, and in Florida, and my finds have been rewarding.Bought my DFX a little over 2 years ago,,but again ,my time in the field goes way past the norm,I have over 100 silver coin digs in the last 2 years,so i expect nothing less in 2013.see if this photo is better.

Great work sniping. Congrats! That would make me happy any day. If the yard is pretty clean break out the big coil. edge of stability, tone ID mixed mode, dig deep iffies that have good tone lousy or no vdi that depth read 6" or more. Just an idea now.

Thanks for the info ytcoinshooter,I do have the 12" spider coil,6x10 double d eclipse, and 9.5 regular eclipse. Most or just about all of my finds is with a small 6 inch double D excellerator coil. With my settings I can get a depth of 8 inches,no silver dollars, but I do have 5 halves.
