old grove located from 1870's

i have been searching for an old grove that was mentioned in a 1876 atlas and it has eluded me until yesterday....i finally pinpointed the location of the grove and it still is covered by huge old trees and some taller grass. i'm positive of the location because there is a small family cemetary just north of the grove that has the same family name.
this grove was used for the first time i can find in 1870 and was the location of an old settlers meeting for the early inhabitants of the county. the story tells of hundreds of people coming to attend the meetings and having bands playing and picnic dinners under the big shade trees. the next step is to get permission to hunt this grove which i doubt will be a problem. this grove covers several acres and should hold countless coins and other artifacts that were lost at these old settlers meetings. and not far from the grove there is an old brick school or church standing in the edge of a farm field. it looks like it could date from the 1870's also and i'm going to ask permission to hunt this as well. so yesterday was a very good day and my research is about to pay off after almost a year of tracking this site down. i'm anxious to get a coil on the ground at this grove and see what turns up. could be some very nice seated coins in this site.......more to come later...............roger

Looking forward to hearing how you do in the old grove. Should be lots of fun for you.
